Missing summer warmth?

It was a sunny, yet cold and windy, day as we met at Dooney's yesterday for our October lunch rendezvous.

New lunch menu at Dooney's! The food was delicious and all in attendance had a good time...and missed those of you who weren't.

Our next lunch date is Tuesday, November 27th. Meanwhile, enjoy the fall and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

School Bells Ring....

This is my 12th year of not having to be ready to go back to school. I have to say, it makes me very happy.
I had mentioned the annual First Day of School Trip to Seaside, but it was really hot on Tuesday so that didn't happen this year.
I hope you all had a great summer and I look forward to seeing you for some of our lunches this coming year.

Our next one is September 18th, a Tuesday this time. Hope to see you there!- Roberta

Just a reminder- we have lots of photos from lunches and other events over the years at: https://seeingoldfriends.shutterfly.com/

There's a GoFundMe for Morris Burton going on

Marge Gessmann wanted to share this information with everyone.
In case you didn't know him, Morris Burton was a Delran school board member for many years and was a good friend to all.
This is the link that explains his current situation:
https://www.gofundme.com/help-me-help-morris-burton

We talked about him and many other subjects at today's lunch at Dooney's Pub.

Look who came! Mary Catherine! (We haven't seen her in awhile).
Kathryn was newly back from her Alaska trip (she loved it). Rosemary and Bruce are Ireland-bound soon. Ron, Marcia, Judy, Jean, and I had stories to share.

Jennie, hope your mom is okay. All on vacation, hope you're having fun! Hello to Jackie in France! All babysitting...good for you...enjoy those kids!
Good wishes for a wonderful summer to you all and hope to see you next time. (No date set for August yet*).
*Update: August 23rd (a Thursday!) is the next lunch date!

https://delranea.shutterfly.com/

So many new faces! I have been retired since July 2006 (!!), and a lot of friends have retired, too, in the interim between then and now. That's why I treasure our DEAR lunches.

Karen won the 50-50!

Congratulations on your retirement, Jennie! <3

Have fun this summer; hope to see you this winter!

Ani is just one of the many Delran teachers that I had the pleasure of teaching!

Hope your summer season is going well and hope to see you next week!

Cancellation of Bruce's Concert

Sadly, due to outside circumstances (weather and church considerations), Bruce's Community Concert group will not be able to perform tomorrow night (Friday, June 1) at the Strawberry Festival.

I know you those of you who were looking forward to attending are as disappointed as I.

Our retired Delran colleagues Joanne Karwacki, Wilma Kaelin, Marcia Konieczka, and their friend Judy Erickson are having big big fun on their annual Girls Trip....this year in Costa Rica.

Guess who we ran into?

All was good for the May gathering, despite the fact they had given our orignal table away to another group.
Good friends, good food, good times.

We were delighted when a group of DIS teachers came in and sat at a nearby table on their "half day".

Hard to believe another school year is drawing to a close.
The retirement lunch for Delran is June 12th. Who's in?

Weather, right?

I hope to see many of you Wednesday (May 16) at our next scheduled Dooney's lunch (12:30) and that your spring season has been going well.

The outrageous weather our nation (and we specifically) have been experiencing reminds me of many a disaster movie.  You too?

I am looking forward to the strawberry and ice cream and cake treats that they'll be selling at the Annual Strawberry Festival at the First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown on Friday, June 1st and listening to Bruce's (free) concert at 6:15. Hope to see you there, too!
Here's the poster of the event, if you are there for more than just the concert.

Our next lunch is set for Wednesday, May 16th at 12:30 at Dooney's Pub in Delran. Hope to see you there!

We are welcoming Susan Caccese to our group; thanks, Rosemary for sharing her email.

Also, we are looking forward to Bruce's concert April 13th and hope you can join us!
